Privacy notice
Draft before publication: This text describes the current Clean-Room technical operation. The items in square brackets must be reviewed and completed by the responsible party before public release.
1. Controller and contact
[CONTROLLER: legally reviewed name or permitted designation]
[DATA-PROTECTION CONTACT: legally reviewed electronic contact method]
2. Scope of this website
ScammerWatchdogs is an editorial information service about fraud patterns and consumer risks. Visitors can read published articles, search the archive and consciously open external source links.
This website has no public report, contact, counterstatement or file-upload form. It therefore does not collect public form submissions, visitor-uploaded files or public visitor accounts through the website.
3. Technical requests and hosting
Technical connection data may arise at the hosting provider and its security or backup services when a website is accessed. The actual data, purposes, recipients and retention periods must be completed from the real hosting and backup arrangements before publication.
[HOSTING AND LOGGING DETAILS: provider, possible recipients, actual log data, purpose, legal basis and retention period]
4. Editorial email
The contact page reveals an editorial email address only after deliberate interaction. If you use that address, the editorial team processes the information you send by email to handle your request. Ordinary email is neither anonymous nor end-to-end encrypted. Do not send highly sensitive documents or personal data that you would not share by email.
[EMAIL DETAILS: email provider, recipients, purpose, legal basis and retention period]
5. Editorial access and cookies
The protected editorial area is intended only for authorised editorial accounts. A technically necessary session cookie is used for an active editorial session. It supports login, session management and protection against misuse. The production configuration provides Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax cookie settings.
The Clean-Room source code contains no analytics, advertising, social-media or CAPTCHA service. The public website does not create visitor profiles or use advertising trackers.
6. Content, sources and RSS retrieval
Articles and categories are maintained editorially in a database. External source links open only after a visitor chooses them. RSS feeds from BaFin, VZBV and ScamBusters can be retrieved manually only by an authenticated editor. New entries remain unpublished drafts; there is no automated retrieval or publication.
When an editor manually retrieves an RSS feed, the server contacts the relevant feed address. Technical server connection data may arise at that provider. Guardian remains disabled.
7. Recipients, transfers and retention
Recipients or service providers may be named only where they are actually used. The following information must be completed before publication:
[RECIPIENTS AND RETENTION: hosting, backups, email provider and, if applicable, support; do not state unverified third-country transfers]
8. Rights and complaints
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, data subjects may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Requests should be sent to the contact method above. The competent data-protection authority must be verified for the actual operator and place of establishment.
[COMPETENT SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: verified name and contact details]
9. Version and changes
Draft version: 25 October 2026. This text must be updated and reviewed before any change to actual processing, for example new forms, analytics or protection services, newsletters, new hosting providers or automated retrievals.
